(MYFOX NATIONAL) - Dustin Diamond, who played Screech on the popular Saturday-morning sitcom "Saved By The Bell," claims there was rampant pot smoking, sex behind the scenes and even steroid use by fellow actors on the show in a new tell-all book.

According to US Weekly , Diamond writes in his book "Behind the Bell," that co-stars Tiffani-Amber Thiessen and Mario Lopez "hooked up" as well as Elizabeth Berkley and Mark-Paul Gosselaar during the show's four-year run from 1989-1993.

Diamond also alleges that he "could smell a certain 'smoke,' wafting from the crack" underneath his castmates' dressing room doors and that Gosselaar, who played Zack Morris, used steroids to bulk up before he started production for the short-lived follow-up series, "Saved by the Bell: The College Years."

Cast members have denied Diamond's allegations.

Ed Alonzo, who played restaurant owner Max told RadarOnline.com , "I never saw anything like this. Yes, the kids dated early on but nothing more than just kids dating. ... Dustin is way off the mark with this book."

Gosselaar adamantly denied the claims. "We weren't in rehab and Mr. Belding wasn't my crack dealer," the 35-year-old actor told Us Weekly.

Diamond has had his share of problems since the series ended. He filed for bankruptcy in 2001 after being sued for more than $21,000 in unpaid property taxes, and released a sex tape in 2006. In July, five of the six original cast members appeared on the cover of People magazine in an exclusive cover shoot and "reunion" interview -- Diamond wasn't invited.
