How would you like to get engaged on television? In our annual shot at making one special person very happy, Fox 56 is giving a viewer the opportunity to propose on the air during a commercial break in American Idol!

Here’s how it works: Tell us your unique love story (in the form provided below) and convince us that you are the right man for this job. Let your personality shine through! Make it funny or show your sensitive side! Your story could include anything about your relationship….how you met, how much in love you are and why you can’t imagine life without her. Please keep your essay to 100 words or less.

If selected, Fox 56 will videotape your proposal in advance and air it during a commercial break in American Idol on Thursday, April 4th, while you and your loved one are having dinner (on us). Thousands of people all over northeastern PA will see your proposal!

Winner receives prizes Tovon & Co Diamonds, as well gift certificates determined by the following sponsors: Feel Good Limo, The Inne of the Abingtons, and Mike Walton Productions. Sponsors have the right to limit prizes.

Fox 56 will accept entries until Thursday, April 4th. Winner must be available the evening of Thursday, April 4th and at least one time to be determined before that date, in order to shop for engagement ring and videotape the proposal.

2013 FOX56 “POP the QUESTION” Official Contest Rules
  1. *How to enter: Qualifiers can log on to www.myfoxnepa.com and submit an essay of 100 words or less on why they want to propose to the love of their life on television. Entries must be submitted via email to myfoxnepa@fox56.com, and in the subject line provide POP the Question.
  2. *Selection of Winners: One (1) winner will be chosen for the grand prize. Entries will be received until March 27th, 2013. Winner will be notified on or around April 1th, 2013. Winner must be available to tape the proposal portion the week of April 1th . Failure to execute any documentation shall result in immediate forfeiture of the prize and the selection of the alternate winner. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
  3. *Prizes: One winner will be awarded goods and services provided by Tovon & Co.Diamonds, Mike Walton Productions, Feel Good Limo, and The Inne of the Abingtons.. Winner will propose in a pre-produced thirty second spot to air on FOX56 April 4th, 2013 between 8PM and 9PM during American Idol. All taxes on the prize(s) are the sole responsibility of the prize winner(s). No substitution, transfer, or assignment of any prizes is permitted other than a substitution by FOX56 WOLF TV. Prizes can not be exchanged or redeemed for cash.
  4. *Eligibility: This contest is open to legal residents of the United States eighteen (18) years or older. Both the winner and the person offered the proposal must be over the age of 18 and cannot be married to any other person, legally separated or in the process of divorcing. To be eligible, winner must provide a valid entry and valid identification. A valid entry must include all information required to be provided on the entry form. This contest is void where prohibited by law. Employees of FOX 56 WOLF TV and its respective affiliates, their respective immediate family members, and personnel of other TV stations whose broadcast signals are received in the northeast PA designated market area, employees of Tovon & Co., Feel Good Limo, Mike Walton Productions, The Inne of the Abingtons and other TV networks are not eligible to enter or win. You must be a legal U.S. resident, 18 years old, who is eligible to work in the United States. Employees, shareholders, officers, directors, agents, representatives, and their immediate family members and those living in the same household of FOX Broadcasting Company, The CW, My Network TV affiliates production personnel for the television program, participating television stations, advertising agencies, corporate sponsors or any person or entity connected with the production, administration or judging of the auditions, or any of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents or representatives are not eligible.
  5. *General Conditions: Contest entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these official rules and by the decisions of FOX56 WOLF TV, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this contest. This contest is governed by the laws of the United States. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. All taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the prize winner(s). Prizes will be awarded and winner will be notified at the end of the contest. The inability to notify or contact a winner, the no responsiveness of a winner, or the winner’s failure to accept the prize may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner, assuming FOX56 WOLFTV has, in its sole discretion, sufficient time to select an alternate winner. Winners will be required to pick up prizes at FOX56 WOLF or on location. By entering, each entrant concedes to and grants to FOX56 WOLF TV the right to use, publish or broadcast, without additional compensation, the entrant’s voice, name and likeness online, in print, via broadcast and in any other media in connection with the contest. FOX56 WOLF TV makes no warranty, representation, or agreement that any videotape, audiotape, or likeness of a winner will be broadcast or otherwise used in any manner. By entering, participants, on their own behalf and on behalf of their family members, dependents, friends, relatives, heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, release and hold harmless FOX56 WOLF TV, its affiliates, directors, officers, stockholders, FOX Network, Tovon & Co., DJ Mike Walton Productions, Feel Good Limo, and The Inne of the Abingtons and other TV networks are not eligible to enter or win. You, employees and agents from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this contest or any prize won.
