Police Called On Animal Abuse Suspect

A man facing animal abuse charges had police at his house again. They were called to John Tannis's home after someone saw several dogs on his property after a judge ruled that he was only allowed to have one dog in his possession. He was told that if he was caught with more than one dog he would be taken to jail. Police took two more dogs from the home, bringing the total to 29. More>>

Teacher Strike Planned

For the second time this school year a teacher strike may interrupt classes in a Luzerne County School District. Teachers in the Wyoming Area School District say that they will strike Wednesday if the school board does not vote for an arbitration ruling. They have been working without a contract for 4 years; they want better wages and health care.   More>>

New Sex Crime Charges

Police filed more sex crime charges against the Singing Boys of Pennsylvania Choir. Investigators say that Kenneth Schade had more than 1100 images of child pornography in his home. According to police paperwork Schade made a monitored phone call to a neighbor, asking them to take 2 locked suitcases from his home. The suitcases contained images of young children. More>>

Hiker Dies After Fall

A Lehigh County man fell to his death in Carbon County. Officials confirmed that 20 year old Jessie Crosley of Lehigh County was the man who died. It happened near Glen Onoko Falls just outside of Jim Thorpe. Crosley was hiking with a group of friends when he fell about 25 feet onto the rocks below. Rescue crews warn hikers to be careful in that area; it is the 2nd death there within a year. More>>

Arrest After Police Standoff

An Ashley man was arrested after a standoff with police in Luzerne County. Police took 26 year old Jeffrey Arnott into custody after the standoff. An officer on patrol heard screaming around 1 AM coming from an apartment building on the 100 block of Barnes Street. Police say Arnott was threatening violence against 3 others; he finally surrendered after an 8 hour standoff. More>>
