Bank Robber On The Loose

The suspect in a Luzerne County bank robbery is still on the loose. Police say he robbed Honesdale National Bank in Kingston. Kingston police searched homes and yards on Church Street looking for the suspect. Investigators say the man walked into the bank and handed the teller a napkin and demanded money. He got away with an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot down Church Street. More>>

Strike Likely To Push Back Graduation

Nearly 200 teachers in the Danville Area School District are on strike. Failed negotiations at a school board meeting triggered teachers to walk the picket line. The strike is expected to last 5 to 6 school days. The school board president says that the school year and graduation will be pushed back because of the strike. More>>

Needles Brought To School

A third grade student in Luzerne County was suspended after he brought hypodermic needles to school. School officials say the 8 year old brought the needles to Lee Park Elementary School in Hanover Township. The student got them from home where a diabetic family member uses them for insulin. Officials say he gave the needles to a classmate and that boy punctured his arm with it. More>>

No Bail For Animal Abuse Suspect

A Lackawanna County man who police said had more dogs than he was supposed to will stay in prison. A bail hearing was held for John Tanis of Moosic who is accused of animal abuse. A police officer testified there were 3 dogs on his property when he was only supposed to have one. The judge says that for the time being, Tanis will remain in prison. More>>

School Lockdown Scare

Frantic parents paced outside South Scranton Intermediary School after it was put on lockdown. Police were called to investigate after a student reported that he thought he saw a gun in the building. The district took no chances and had the building searched, but nothing was found. Police think that the student that reported a gun may have seen a large black phone case. More>>
